Death. I define it as the state where we stop enjoying things that we usually did in this mysterious world. It is when our body organs stop functioning and we can no longer communicate through words.
Preparing for New Year celebration was the most unforgettable happening we enjoy the most. Below are the five situation that we always do in preparation for new year. First, before new yea came, me together with my mother and sister bought fruits to display at the table for a good fortune that we believe.Second, we Filipinos believe that cleaning the house before new year means throwing all bad lucks that we had for past year. so we did. We clean. Next, my family always wrote our new year's resolution and wrap it to a candle and put it at the dining table. After that, we also enjoyed cooking. So, we prepared viands and desserts for the occasion. Lastly, we never forget to buy fireworks because for us, new year would never be complete without it. This situations were like traditions that we always follow.
But this tradition was cut last new year celebration because my brother was attacked by his asthma. Our money for new year celebration was diverted in buying medicines and we admit him to the hospital.
In the hospital, my brother told us something about his dream. Before he was attacked by his asthma, he dreamed about my grandfather who died three years at that time and it was his death anniversary. My brother added that my grandfather wanted someone to visit him. So my grandmother concluded that the reason of his asthma was because we forget to visit our grandfather's tomb.
When my brother got fine, we visited at the cemetery and offer flowers and candles. Elders believe that dead people communicate through dreams. In this situation, I stick on the saying "To see is to believe" but I never wish to see one! :)))
